Ferguson Litigation Funding expands senior management team

Ferguson Litigation Funding (FLF) today welcomes insolvency and litigation specialists Elizabeth Taylor and Sergei Purewal to the management team, strengthening the funder’s bench of high-level litigation expertise. Insolvency partner Elizabeth Taylor joins FLF as a Solicitor whilst Sergei Purewal, a non-practising Solicitor, will lead the team as Head of Funding.

Elizabeth has over 25-years’ experience acting for insolvency practitioners, directors and debtors in pursuing and defending Insolvency Act claims, and was head of the insolvency team at Darbys Solicitors LLP from 1999 until November 2015 prior to moving into litigation funding.

Sergei has previously been involved in landmark and leading cases in law and insurance sectors holding posts as Funding Manager and Partner, having worked for law firms such as Dentons, Eversheds, as well as Senior Underwriter for funder Burford Capital (UK). He brings to FLF a wealth of knowledge and insight into managing litigation risks.

Commenting on the new appointments, FLF Managing Director Maurice Power said: “We are delighted to welcome such first-class talent to our operations, for they signal our intent to offer only the finest quality service to our clients. Elizabeth and Sergei bring with them a wide breadth of knowledge and expertise in the litigation, insolvency and restructuring spaces.”

FLF was launched as the exemption for insolvency litigation from the changes brought about by the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (LASPO), was withdrawn. FLF specialises in working with leading law firms and insolvency practitioners and has specific expertise and experience in the sector.
