Ferguson Litigation Funding expands senior management team

Ferguson Litigation Funding (FLF) welcomes business development and client care specialist Paul Cooklin to the management team, further strengthening the funder’s capability. Paul joins FLF as Business Development Manager, arriving from litigation funder Manolete Partners PLC, where he was formerly Chief Operating Officer.

Paul has worked in in the legal profession since 1984 with extensive knowledge of the domestic and international commercial and business law sector. Paul will form part of the business development team at FLF, utilising his established connections with solicitors, barristers and insolvency practitioners both at home and overseas.

Paul is the latest hire to strengthen FLF’s offering following the hire of solicitor Elizabeth Taylor and Head of Funding Sergei Purewal who joined the senior management team in April 2017 and November 2016 respectively.

Commenting on Paul’s appointment, FLF Managing Director Maurice Power said: “We are delighted to welcome such a first-class and respected talent to our operation, Paul further signals our intent to offer only the finest quality service to our clients. He brings with him an unrivalled breadth of knowledge and expertise in the domestic international corporate and personal insolvency spaces, as well as commercial litigation, banking, financial services and civil fraud.”

FLF was launched as the exemption for insolvency litigation from the changes brought about by the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (LASPO), was withdrawn. FLF specialises in providing litigation funding to leading law firms, corporates and insolvency practitioners.
